It’s August…time to visit the cabin, go to the beach, have a barbecue, and…VOTE!  

Yes, that’s right, your first chance to vote in 2026 is coming up soon!

August 11 is the date of the Minnesota primary, when you get to help set your preferred Democratic candidate on the path to the general election in November. Primaries determine which one candidate ends up on the ballot for the DFL in the “big” election, so it’s crucial you express your preference on or before August 11.

Make sure you are registered to vote, know where your polling place is, and carve out time to plan your vote so your voice is heard.

If you can’t vote on Tuesday, Aug. 11, you can vote early through Aug. 10.
