The Winona County DFL has announced its largest digital ad buy against its current state Representative, Aaron Repinski.

“All last year Aaron Repinski campaigned on finding balance in St. Paul. Then, within hours of being sworn in, he has voted lockstep with the most extreme GOP House Caucus in history,” said Winona DFL Chair Jim Worthley. The simple digital ads hammer Rep. Repinski for participating in an unconstitutional session of the House (1), supporting Speaker Demuth in her efforts to unseat a duly elected State Representative (2), and working on tax cuts for wealthy Minnesotans in a time of budget shortfalls (3).

“It should come as no surprise that Rep. Repinski is trying to cut taxes for wealthy Minnesotans, because that’s who funded his campaign,” said Michael Todd, the Winona DFL Communications Director. “In Minnesota, you will not pay taxes on Social Security if you make less than $82,000, which is the vast majority of retired Minnesotans. Rep. Repinski wants to get rid of a tax at a time when Minnesota is looking at a budget shortfall in a couple of years. For someone who ran on fiscal responsibility, this makes absolutely no sense.”

The Winona DFL is ramping up its efforts to flip 26A and SD 26 in 2026, with ad campaigns and weekly rallies that have attracted hundreds of people protesting the disastrous policies happening at the federal and state level.

“There is a lot of anger with Repinski,” Winona DFL member Laura Armstrong said. “He ran on being a nice guy, on wanting to bring balance. And then as soon as he leaves Winona, he goes full MAGA.”

Jim Worthley reiterated, “Repinski has the millionaires in Winona, he has MAGA super PACS supporting him. We knew that if we didn’t start taking out ads, if we didn’t start holding him accountable, no one else would. That’s why from now until November 2026 we will be letting his constituents know what he has been up to while in St. Paul.”
